Located in the most interesting areas, Canton village steals your appetite away with tantilizing combo plates.
Strip malls and odd neighborhoods seem to be the theme for this chain, but our favorite since 1992 is the downtown location. In a small little establishment in the downtown area, houses the wonderful Canton Village. Their prices are unbelievably low for the portions they muster into the to go box. The combonations are your best ticket to get the fullness of their Cantonese style. The egg rolls are delicious, and the fried rice is the closest we've come to the reigning king of the Pork Fried Rice of Nam's Village in San Jose California. The best dish to get is the lemon chicken and their lo mien is wonderful. Although the neighborhood isn't SLC's finest, dining in isn't a concern, The Birdman from Alcatraz showed me a penny trick for two hour parking at the meters.

It may be the Year of the Snake, but don't tell them it's a holiday. Gill joined us for lunch on this past festive Chinese New Year and we chose to eat at this establishment in celebration. The Kung Pao Chicken is reported to be good as well. As we were leaving we pointed out on their wall the chinese zodiacs and that on this very day was the New Years of the Snake. Oh yeah, be sure to check their weekend menu adequately propped up against the door.
