Bagels

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 1 Cup Water warm (110)
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegatable Oil
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons Yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Molassas

DIRECTIONS

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. The dough should feel stiff, add extra water if it is too stiff. Knead dough into 8 balls roll each ball into a snake and wrap around hand and roll ends to blend together making a ring. Let dough rise 10-20 minutes.

Bring 3 Cups of water and 2T of molasses to a boil. Boil bagels 1 min each side drain on a clean towel and place dry bagel on a baking sheet (sprinkled with corn meal). Add eggwash or seasoning to bagels if desired.

Bake bagels in a preheated oven (375) for 12 minutes each side.
